My children’s books have been translated into 28 languages, nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal and twice been named ‘Books of the Year’ by The Guardian.

The Times called them “an important historical record of the time.” (They should know).

It probably helps that I have the same sense of humour as a five-year-old.

THE CASE OF THE
MISSING CAKE
with Marc Boutavant

“Alphabet high jinks and criminal capers combine… This funny, subversive book should make both children and adults snigger.”
The Guardian (Children’s Book of the Month)

“‘The world’s most delicious, tongue-jinglingly, chocolaty cake has been…STOLEN.’ Bear follows a trail of sprinkles and crumbs through the alphabet searching for the culprit… a sneaky, witty way of reinforcing early literacy skills.”
The Irish Times

 THE HUG
with Polly Dunbar

A ‘Book of the Year’
The Guardian

‘Children’s Books of the Year’
The Irish Times

“Funny and astute... animals can be every bit as awkward and endearing as humans”
Publishers Weekly

This is a single book with two covers. Hedgehog and Tortoise both go looking for a hug, from opposite sides. SPOILER ALERT. They meet each other in the middle.

The Hug has been translated into 20 languages, awarded a D&AD Pencil for Book Design and adapted for children with communication difficulties.

THIS BOOK IS NOT A BEDTIME STORY
with Robert Starling

This book is NOT
a bedtime story.
It’s scary, strange
and rather gory.

Bedtime stories
make you sleepy.
This book won’t.
It’s much too CREEPY.

“With its brilliant concept, cast of adorable monsters, a wryly funny chorus of animals who puncture every attempt by the monsters to be scary, and big, bold illustrations that bring the story to visual life, this is the perfect book to reassure you own little monsters at bedtime!”
